Other things that tamanu oil can be used for:

Tamanu oil comes from the plant species Calophyllum inophyllum. The tree is called manydifferent things such as the “poon” in India, the “feta’u” in Tonga, the “bintangor” tree in Malaysia or the “ati” or “tamanu” tree in Tahiti. However this tree can be found in South East Asia, Australasia, Madagascar, East Africa, the Pacific Islands, the West Indes and South America.
The tree is an evergreen hardwood which flowers twice a year and in time produces round fruit the size of an apricot. The fruit has a large, hard nut which is where the oil comes from. The nut is originally composed of whitish yellow kernel. The nut is then dried for a month or so and the kernel inside turns into greenish amber coloured oil. That's when the oil is harvested. There is no need for chemicals or preservatives. Tamanu oil is easily absorbed into the skin and has a rich, nutty fragrance.
Tamanu Oil also has been on shows like Dr. Oz, where tamanu oil has been described as nothing less than a miracle.
